Aldo’s Chosen Business of the Year
GERMANTOWN, WI March 26, 2015 — The Germantown Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Germantown honored Dwayne and Judy Ketterer with the Business of the Year Award here Thursday night at the annual awards banquet. The Ketterers own Aldo’s “R” Bar Pizza, Pub & Catering LLC here in Germantown, a hot spot for family and community events. According to the plaques and certificates presented them, the Ketterers received the award for their tireless community involvement.
Every Wednesday morning the Germantown Kiwanis Club meets at Aldo’s “R” Bar Pizza, Pub & Catering LLC in Germantown, Wisconsin for their weekly meeting to discuss local projects. And before 7:30 AM every Wednesday morning, Judy and Dwayne Ketterer and their staff prepare a wonderful breakfast for their fellow Kiwanians. The Ketterers have also sponsored many parties honoring Germantown High School sports teams, including a celebration party for the State Champion Germantown High School Basketball Team the past three years.
In a press release by the Germantown Chamber of Commerce, Aldo’s Pizza, Pub & Catering LLC was nominated for their many community contributions, donations and sponsorships. Dwayne Ketterer was just recently elected President of the Germantown Kiwanis Club. Judy Ketterer has been the club’s recording secretary for the past four years. Outgoing President Bill Steitz has said that the Ketterers are the “glue that holds the Kiwanis Club together.” They plan and order the food for every event the Kiwanis sponsors during the year, including traditional Germantown community events such as the 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks, Breakfast With Santa and the Taste of Germantown. Judy serves as Chair of the Breakfast With Santa committee for Kiwanis. Judy and Dwayne have been members of the Germantown Kiwanis since 2010.
The award was presented during a dinner banquet at the Florian Park Conference & Event Center. A plaque was presented to Aldo’s “R” Bar Pizza, Pub & Catering with the proclamation and certificate. The presentation was made by Germantown Village President Dean Wolter.
The Ketterers purchased Aldo’s in November of 1998 and have grown from 6 employees to 19; from a menu of 6 entrees, a few sandwiches and pizza to a menu of 13 entrees, 18 sandwiches and wraps, Friday Fish Fry and pizza. They added day care catering in 2003, and today provide between 300 and 400 lunches a day to 11 day cares and schools. They also cater countless tournaments, conferences and parties throughout the year.
The Germantown Kiwanis Club meets every Wednesday morning for breakfast and a short meeting at Aldo’s location, W156N11058 Pilgrim Rd, Germantown, WI 53022. The Germantown Kiwanis is the only remaining active local service club in the Germantown community.
