The August edition of “Taste of Germantown” will feature a whole evening of music for familes as they sample gourmet entres from local restaurants and eateries. The theme of the August festival is “Celebrating Summer,” and it will feature music at the pavilion in Firemen’s Park. It is indeed a party in the park.
Germantown Kiwanis and U.S. Bank will host their third Taste of Germantown community Get-Together this Thursday. Area restaurants and eateries will present their fine fair as the crowds are entertained with local music groups, including the Germantown High School Wall of Sound Marching Band, the All Star Jazz Crusaders and Max Templin, the winner of the recent Washington County Battle of the Bands.
The U.S Bank Taste of Germantown was a monthly event this summer with Germantown Kiwanis and U.S. Bank combining to bring this fine event to the Germantown community. The first Taste of Germantown for 2015 was themed “Jazz in the Park”, an opportunity for Germantown residents to enjoy great music, plus great food in our local Firemen’s Park. The second U.S. Bank Taste of Germantown with the theme “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” pitted Germantown softball teams such as the Fire Department team and the Police Department team against local church league teams. Again there was great food and music in Firemen’s Park. All of the Taste of Germantown events this summer were for the Germantown Kiwanis Club to raise money for the Gehl Foods Performing Arts Pavillion.
The Taste of Germantown series was started by Germantown Kiwanis in 2014 to bring attention to their efforts to build a Performing Arts Pavillion in Firemen’s Park. This year, U.S. Bank has become involved in planning Taste of Germantown events each month during the summer season with family events for the whole community to enjoy.
Germantown Kiwanis is proud to see so many groups getting involved this year. Their objective of building the Gehl Foods Performing Arts Pavillion in Firemen’s Park has been spurred by the community getting involved in the Taste of Germantown events. Below is a new rendering of what the Gehl Foods Performing Arts Pavillion will look like. You’ll see this rendering up close during Taste of Germantown this Thursday as the drawing will be on display at the location in the park where it is to be built.
