All of our youngsters will be on hand for the 2016 Germantown Fire Safety Fair this Saturday. Fire trucks and fanfare will be the order of the day when the Germantown Fire Department holds its annual learning event here in Germantown, Wisconsin. Kiwanis of Germantown is proud to participate in the fair which is a teaching opportunity for young and old.
Our annual Fire Safety Fair is held the first Saturday in October. The fair includes an opportunity to stress safety and health issues in our community. It is specially designed to appeal to young families. On display will be fire trucks and equipment from Germantown and neighboring communities. On the schedule for the day’s events will be mock demonstrations on how to extinguish house fires, car fires and many others. The Germantown fire fighters will show techniques in auto fire extrications and the use of sprinkler systems. Familes will see the Survive Alive House, CPR Training information and Flight For Life services. Local businesses which deal with fire safety products and clean-up services will be on hand.
The fair is open to the public and free of charge. It includes a free lunch for participants. The fair will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., October 1, 2016. The Safety Fair will be held at Fire Station No. 2, N115 W18700 Edison Drive, Germantown, Wisconsin in the Industrial Park.
The Germantown Fire Department is a combination of full-time fire fighters and EMT’s on staff and a support group of highly dedicated “Paid-On-Call” (POC) fire fighters. Germantown Kiwanis salutes our fire fighters for keeping our community safe.
