The official start of the Christmas Season is the Germantown Christmas Festival and Parade on Saturday morning, November 12, 2016. It begins with the annual Candy Cane Run/Walk, followed by the Germantown Christmas Parade and, later, a tree lighting ceremony at the library. The parade features floats, entertainment and live music.
The 5k Candy Cane Run/Walk will have registration at 9 am; the race starts at 10 am. Join us for this family friendly (kids in strollers and dogs on leash are welcome!) run/walk through the quiet neighborhoods of Germantown. Germantown Kiwanis will be on hand with water, coffee and donuts in the morning.
The Annual Christmas Parade will start at 2:00pm. The parade route travels down Main Street in Germantown. This is a free event. Parade Entry Form/Waiver click here: Christmas Parade Entry Form. After the parade stop bye the Village Square in front of the library for a Kiwanis brat or hamburger with you favorite refreshment.
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will happen around 4:30pm. Meet us at the Germantown Community Library for activities leading up to lighting of the Official Village Christmas Tree. There will be free horse-drawn carriage rides and caroling. Food items will be available for purchase at the Kiwanis food stand. Families will have the opportunity to visit with Santa. Don’t forget your camera! Around 4 pm, we’ll gather for carols as the tree is lit and the holiday season officially starts in Germantown.
For any questions on this event please contact the Germantown Chamber of Commerce office by phone, (262) 255-1812.
